Zentangle & Mini Abstracts:
Techniques for Purposeful and Fun Doodling
using Pens and Brushes
with Angela Wrahtz
"Zentangle" is a meditational art form that looks hard but is easy to pick up. You will find yourself filling several sketchbooks in a couple of weeks! By popular request, at the December 9th GPS, we will have a half hour demo that will get you started with some basic information and a fun project. This demo will repeat some info from the May demo but will have a new twist to get you into projects that stretch your abstract side to creation. Angie will have a number of interesting samples and some new tools to share
with you to spark your creativity. Focus will be on composition, artful line work and applying color.

This art form allows a person to achieve a relaxed focus while creating beautiful images using repetitive patterns. This demo will teach you how to do it....how to feel the zen of this type of doodling which draws deep on brain function and unlocks your imagination for interlocking lines and shapes while adding depth and character from watercolor. The results stand on their own or become the basis for embellishment in your larger works.

This demo is free to WOW members and $10 per guest. Bring a drawing pad and/or watercolor pad, sharpies (thick and thin), and your usual watercolor painting supplies and a friend if you like. Handouts provided. Angie will bring stencils for artists to use for the "next level" project. Books on Zentangle including "repeating pattern" suggestions can be bought at amazon.com, Blicks, or your favorite art store if you want extra resources.

Hope to see you there!
